TROUT UNLIMITED NOVEMBER MEETING Wednesday November 14, 2007 - Trout Unlimited member meeting at the MK Nature Center. Fly tying at 6:30 p.m. and meeting at 7:30 p.m. Program: Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife fishery biologist Ray Perkins returns to the Ted Trueblood chapter to highlight some of the many fishing opportunities in the mostly desert region of southeastern Oregon. Ray has worked out of the ODFW Ontario Field Office for many years. His area includes the tailwater reach of the Owyhee River, famous for its trophy brown trout fishery and prolific insect hatches. Ray will provide some update on the status of the Owyhee River fishery, but he will also cover numerous other stream and reservoir locations in his domain that offer surprisingly good fishing if winter snow pack can yield enough water. These water bodies grow trout fast and big - winter water carry over is the key to maintaining survival from one year to the next. * * * *
Mark your calendars for Thursday, December 13 for the annual Ted Trueblood C hapter of TU Christmas party at the TU offices in downtown Boise at 1020 Main Street, Suite 440 starting at 5:30 p.m. Come celebrate another successful year of restoration projects at Mores Creek, Boise River, Julia Creek, as well as the hard work supporting the September TU national meeting in Boise! * * * *
